Willpower and conscious intention actually have very little to do with weight loss or maintenance. Examples of behavior caused by unconscious self-sabotage patterns include:
Losing weight over and over but gaining all (or more) of it back
Feeling resistant or hopeless about having to pay attention to what you eat
Difficulty beginning or maintaining a weight loss and exercise program
Eating for emotional reasons
Thinking about food all the time and worrying about your weight daily
Eating, spending, drinking, or doing something else too much
Feeling afraid to eat certain foods because once you start, you can’t stop
Addictions to chocolate, sweets, food in general
